City Council Gives Initial Approval for Dam East Wall project |

The Aurora City Council voted to approve the Special Improvement District (SID) resolution for Dam East at its regular meeting on February 22. The SID had to be approved for the proposed masonry wall along Peoria and Yale to proceed. The Council opened the floor for a public hearing on the wall project before its vote. The hearing lasted half an hour with ~10 people speaking. The next step is for the resolution to be heard a second time by Council in March. For more information contact the Dam East Fence Committee:

Nominations for one board position is being sought. Please contact Fritz Herman, Nominating Committee Chair, at 671-9397 by September 1, 2009 if you are interested in running for this opening. Also -as per Article VII Section 1 - “Nominations may also be made from the floor at the annual meeting”. All proposed amendment changes must be received by September 1, 2009 as well. Article XV Section 1 of the By-laws state “Any proposed amendment by a homeowner must be received by the Secretary no less than 10 days before the meeting notice is sent out…” These should be mailed to the Dam East Secretary c/o Cherry Creek HOA Professionals, 14901 E. Hampden Avenue # 120, Aurora, CO 80014. |

After a short presentation by city officials, many attendees asked questions. Fence committee members presented a slide show at the end with City Councilman Bob Fitzgerald, from Dam West, describing the contentious process and current happiness with Dam West’s brick wall. |
